Herrington Lake is located in north-central Kentucky between the towns and cities of Harrodsburg, Danville, and Lexington. This man-made lake was constructed in 1925 with the damming and impoundment of the Dix River. Originally constructed for hydroelectrical purposes, Herrington Lake now offers an amazing site for weekend breaks and water-based recreation. Herrington Lake’s picturesque location, combined with its closeness to many Kentucky towns, makes it the ideal place to take an RV rental. Access to the lake with a rental RV is made even easier with Highway 152 running along its southernmost shore. Many campgrounds can be found all over the county, making camping with an RV here simple.
