The Great Outdoors

Sanilac Petroglyphs Historic State Park is a family and pet-friendly historical site that is open to the public during daylight hours on weekends and certain weekdays (contact the park for more specific opening days and hours). The petroglyphs or carvings are thought to be between 300 and 1,200 years old; they were found after a fire in the area burnt away the brush and vegetation, revealing the rock formations underneath. Visitors will require a Michigan State Parks Recreation Passport to enter the park.

Exploring The City

A Brown City motorhome rental vacation is the perfect time to learn about agriculture; there is a non-commercialized orchard where guests can get their hands dirty (if they wish) or simply indulge in the products being offered for sale. Visitors can choose from the cider, donut, and baked products, or browse through a gift shop with all sorts of handicrafts. Guests may even wander out into the fields and pick their own products if they choose to. There is also an animal sanctuary that visitors can check out; it is run by volunteers and takes in animals that might otherwise have been euthanized. The sanctuary is non-profit, and all proceeds go to the care of the resident animals. Tours are by appointment only so guests should call ahead before visiting.

The hosts were very helpful and informative. The RV was clean and roomy. Although this particular RV will not work for our intended plan, we enjoyed the experience.
