Discover Freeland RV rentals for memorable road trips

The town of Freeland is located approximately halfway between Midland and Saginaw, two midsize cities in the heart of Michigan. Freeland’s story begins with the various Native American tribes who lived in Michigan for thousands of years before the arrival of European settlers. The land inhabited by the Potawatomi, Chippewa, and Ottawa tribes was ceded to the US government in the 1819 Treaty of Saginaw and was later used for lumber camps and outposts. The name for the newly founded settlement came from the name of Mammy Freeland, a business owner who had a popular tavern on the banks of the river where all the lumberjacks and traders would go.

Bay City State Park comes to mind as a fabulous nature park close to town, located by Bay City on the shores of Saginaw Bay in Lake Huron. This natural park is a gorgeous safe haven for migratory birds and many other types of wildlife, so don’t forget to bring a camera. There are lots of hiking and biking trails, hunting and fishing areas, playgrounds, picnic areas, beaches, a nature museum with an event theater, a splash park for children, and a campground where you can park your Freeland camper rental overnight.

RV Park

Of all the states in the country, Michigan might just be one of the easiest places to find a campground or RV park. Lake of Dreams Campground is a nice place to check out, with plenty of room to camp in RVs, tents, or rustic cabins. There are fishing ponds, swimming areas, beaches, mini-golf courses, a game room, sports fields, and lots of camping spots to choose from at Lake of Dreams Campground.

City Attractions

Freeland and its surrounding areas aren’t generally known for their groundbreaking attractions, but rest assured there are some fun ways to pass the time when you rent an RV in town. In Saginaw, you can stop by the Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum for a dose of culture, with more than 2,000 pieces of art created by the late artist who hailed from Detroit originally. Fredericks created countless works of art in his 70-year career, and lots of them are found in this institution.

only issue we had was based on the main reason I have anything I rent delivered and set up. I am not mechanically inclined. I contacted Leon and he walked me through everything. we had a great experience and look forward to contacting them next year or if we are back in that general area.

My wife and I had a fantastic time! I would certainly recommend to anyone! The couple we rented the camper from were kind and courteous, couldn't ask for a better experience.
