The Upper Peninsula really puts the "great" in the great outdoors – whichever direction you choose to head in your Wetmore motorhome rental, you will come upon some natural wonder. One of them is definitely Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, a combination of colorful rocks coming in amazing shapes and the crystal-clear waters of the lake that shaped them. There are plenty of ways you can admire the natural beauty of the park – go canoeing on the lake, hiking and biking on one of the trails, or backcountry camping away from the popular spots. The lake is also excellent for swimming, fishing, and diving. If you are looking for scenic spots for your photos, visit the Chapel Rock and Beach or Miners Castle. Waterfalls abound, from the Munising Falls, located close to the campground, to Bridalveil Falls, sliding down the cliff into the lake. Reaching the shores of three out of five Great Lakes, Hiawatha National Forest is another must-visit destination for wanderers looking for adventure. While camping at Munising / Pictured Rocks KOA, you will be near one of its most wonderful parts – Grand Island National Recreation Area. Point Iroquois Lighthouse is one of the six lighthouses adding to the scenery. Spend a whole day lying around at the beach or disappear among the trees on one of the hiking trails; here, there is something for everyone. If you come to the forest in the winter, you will be met with a lot of snow and great conditions for cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. There is no end to the magnificent natural spots you can reach in your rental RV. Tahquamenon Falls State Park is one of them, waiting for nature lovers about a 90-minute drive to the east of the campground. The highlights of the park are the Upper and the Lower Falls, awe-inspiring creations of the Tahquamenon River. The unique brownish color of the water will blow you away, in addition to the sheer power of the falls. Boating, hiking, and fishing are some of the activities waiting in this park full of untouched wilderness calling for adventurers to explore it.
