The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources regularly stocks Battle Lake with a variety of fish species. East Battle Lake is stocked with walleye and yellow perch, which West Battle Lake has fishing opportunities for walleye and muskie. Crappie, bluegill, largemouth bass, rock bass, and northern pike can also be found in the waters, so what you catch will be largely to do with where you decide to fish. This is one of the most popular activities on the lake, bringing visitors from miles around to camp at Battle Lake and try their luck with a line.

One of the best ways to stay as close to Battle Lake as possible is to go motorhome camping at Battle Lake RV Park, which is part of Battle Lake Inn and Suites. There are nine sites that offer full hookup accommodation with WiFi, sewer, electricity, and water service. There is a new lodge on the site which offers campers a modern bathroom with shower facilities, a fish cleaning station, shower facilities and a shared gathering place, ideal for family reunions. These sites are available to rent on a nightly, weekly, monthly, or seasonal basis.sites are very close to the shore, so you'll be able to see the water with just a short stroll through the treeline.
Exploring the Area
Rent a camper near Battle Lake to also enjoy the many attractions the area holds. Animal lovers must pay a visit to the nearby Trowbridge Creek Zoo. It is a small zoo but has a variety of animals, therefore it is a good outing for families with small children. You are able to get up close to the creatures and even feed some of them. All of the animals are well cared for, and there is a real family-run feel to the whole place. In addition to the animals, there is also a playground to help keep the kids entertained. There are both exotic animals and petting zoo animals, giving visitors the best of both worlds.
