Spend a motorhome camping trip at Klondike Park in Missouri. Located off Route 94 between the towns of Augusta and Defiance, the park sits amid Missouri’s picturesque wine country. Not too far from Klondike Park are the cities of Washington and Lake Saint Louis. Book an RV in St. Charles County to explore everything this cozy community has to offer.

The St. Charles County Parks converted a silica sand quarry into a site of recreation and thus came about the Klondike Park. Located alongside the Missouri River, the park now finds itself surrounded by cliffs and bluffs made of sandstone and limestone. Along with the river, there is also a large pond that was created from a quarry that was mined out, leaving a huge crater-like hole in the ground that eventually filled up with rainwater. Camping at Klondike Park gives you access to the water bodies and other natural features of the park that make for a great weekend camping trip. From hiking to fishing, boating to wildlife viewing, the diverse habitat of the park is a sure winner for outdoor enthusiasts.

Getting Outdoors

Make the most of 250-acres of lush, green surroundings when you go RV camping at Klondike Park. Overlooking the scenic Missouri River Valley, there are several ways to immerse yourself here. Klondike Lake and the Missouri River both offer exceptional fishing opportunities for anglers. Cast a fishing line in the well-stocked lake waters for sunfish, bluegill, channel catfish, and largemouth bass. Don’t forget to look up at the stunning valley surroundings while you wait for your catch!

The scenic surroundings of Klondike Park make it a haven for hikers and wildlife enthusiasts. There are four miles of natural-surface and paved trails to explore along with a walking trail that overlooks the Missouri River Valley and goes through a series of bluffs. The historic Katy Trail is a must for seasoned hikers.

A great spot for bird watching, common bird sightings in the park include white-throated sparrow, red-bellied woodpecker, eastern meadowlark, northern harrier, red-tailed and red-shouldered hawk, and bald eagles too. Green heron, great blue heron, and great egret frequent the pond’s vast shoreline.
