Truman Reservoir is located in western Missouri, between the towns and cities of Warsaw, Clinton, and Lincoln. The reservoir was first constructed in 1954 but was renamed the Harry S. Truman Dam and Reservoir in 1970, after Missouri born US president Harry Truman. Originally built for flood defense purposes, Truman Reservoir has long-established itself as a great location for lakeside recreation. This reputation, combined with its closeness to many Missouri towns, makes Truman Reservoir the perfect location to take an RV rental. Access to the lake with a rental RV is made even easier with Highway 7 running from the town of Warsaw right up to the lake itself. Many campgrounds can be found throughout the county, making camping with an RV a simple undertaking.
