Old Salem Museums and Gardens feature restored structures that now serve as restaurants and shops. There is also a special handcrafts store that sells items created by the community, such as pottery, textiles, and painted gourds. For those looking for a unique experience while here, stop by the tavern, which serves traditional Moravian dishes.

While in Winston-Salem, take a quick trip over to Historic Bethabara Park. This park was also once settled by Moravians during the mid-1700s. Visitors can stop by the park where they’ll be able to view historic churches, houses, and barns. The grounds are also filled with flourishing gardens that grow flowers and vegetables during the spring and summer. When you’re done exploring the park, you could stop by its gift shop to buy locally-made goods, like lanterns and beeswax candles.
