Exploring the Area

Due to the remoteness of the area, Rhodhiss Lake does not receive a great deal of fishing pressure, making it a good place for fishermen who prefer a little peace and quiet. Much of the lake’s headquarters are great for trout fishing and offer some great quality catches. It has one of the densest populations of fish in the Catawba Lakes, making your chances of a catch pretty high. Species you may catch include the likes of muskie, catfish, crappie, sunfish, striped bass, and largemouth bass, to name a few. The latter fish is the most common catch and can be pretty large, with reports of them weighing up to 10 pounds.

Camping at Rhodhiss Lake

Indian Springs Campground is located on the Henry River, with easy access to the interstate. The park is open all year round for motorhome camping and has full serviced hookups. The site is small and gated with 30 sites available, all of which have 30, 50 amp service, and are pull-through.

Exploring the Area

Located close to Rhodhiss Lake is the Hickory Aviation Museum, which can be found on the site of the Hickory Region Airport. A must-visit for all aviation fans, this museum is dedicated to presenting and displaying exhibits and artifacts related to the Golden Age of Aviation. The museum is popular for both young and old and gives a great insight into the history of aviation. With new aircraft and artifacts being added all the time, there is always something new to see.

Joanny was a pleasure to work with. She had a very flexible pickup and return times. She was like a close friend. Her camper was well stocked with everything you need for a very comfortable camping trip Camper was very clean and pulled very well. I can't say enough about our experience with Joanny and her camper. Next time we decided to rent she will be our go too.
Thanks Joanny and outdoorsy for a great time

We had the best time! It was our first time so we figured we might have a few hangups. We did but Scott was quick to respond and educate us and walk us through the few things that came up. Clean, responsive, and kind made for an amazing 1st experience!

The van had some really fun features. The host was very kind and helpful. Took the time to orient me to the van and had great communication. If I had any questions or needed any help, he would respond immediately. I had a very positive experience and would highly recommend
