The town of Circleville can be found 30 miles south of Columbus, the state capital of Ohio. This impressive suburb of Columbus is named Circleville for the circular earthwork mounds that can be found in the area, dating back thousands of years to the prehistoric indigenous populations that inhabited central Ohio among other places. The area around Circleville was continuously occupied by different native tribes until 1810 when European settlers pushed their way westward. In 1814 the town was officially incorporated and would continue to rapidly grow into an industrial powerhouse.

Ted Lewis Park is the busiest in town due to its central location, with a great playscape for kids, basketball and tennis courts, a picnic pavilion, and quaint walking paths for joggers and casual walkers. Mary Virginia Crites Hannan Park is one of the biggest parks in Circleville, and is often referred to as the town’s “crown jewel’. With more of a natural feel, the park has several nature paths, bird watching areas, and butterfly gardens at the park, in addition to all of the usual features like playgrounds, sports fields, pavilions, and more. People can walk their dogs off leash at this pet-friendly park, or enjoy the splash pad during the summertime.
City Sightseeing
You will be able to enjoy the town of Circleville and its many restaurants, wineries, small shops, and quaint cafes, but there are only a few attractions that can be seen in town. Pickaway County Visitors Bureau is near the entrance of the historic downtown area and is a fabulous place to stop when you rent an RV in Circleville.
