**Please note this is a manual transmission**
Throw back to the 70’s in “Sweet Pea”, a beautifully restored and updated 1972 VW camper that sleeps 4!
**A note about Covid-19**
For 2020 we are doing contactless pickup and drop off for everyone’s safety. Find out all about Sweet Pea in the videos below:
We are also supplying everyone with (eco friendly) disposable silverware/plates/cups etc. You can know that the items we provide for you to eat from are completely safe.
We purchased this bus as a fulfillment of a dream. After successfully hosting an apartment with Airbnb, we decided to bring our same 5 star service to people looking for an adventure along the beautiful New England Coast. From Mystic Seaport along Rhode Island’s beautiful beaches all along the Cape, we are convinced that “Sweet Pea” will make for life long memories. The vehicle has an impeccably maintained drivetrain & a true pleasure to drive.
Imagine an earlier time rambling along sandy back roads discovering new stretches of beach and quaint spots for ice cream before heading back to the campground for a relaxing night in our spacious well appointed camper!
The interior has been meticulously restored and features a rear sofa that converts into a full sized bed for 2. The Pop Top has a full sized bunk which also can sleep 2.
The bus comes with an EZ Up awning, collapsible kitchen with a dual burner Coleman stove, folding table & 4 stools. Gourmet camping coffee maker and everything you could need for a vacation along the New England Coast. All of this is included in the cost - no extra add-ons. Just bring your suitcase and good vibes!
“Sweet Pea” is great if you:
Are not in a hurry
Enjoy “glamping” (glamorous camping)
Can appreciate taking things slowly
Enjoy strangers telling you their VW bus stories
“Sweet Pea” is terrible if you:
Are concerned about getting there on time
Want an indoor bathroom/shower
Expect to climb hills/bridges
Never look at dashboard gauges
Enjoy Power Steering (or power anything!)
Unfortunately, Sweet Pea can’t safely secure child seats so no children under 8 allowed.
“Sweet Pea” is available for trips in the greater southern New England area & has a RI State beach pass allowing for discounted parking at our state beaches. The bus can possibly be delivered/returned to Narragansett Newport or Cape areas (sorry not for 2020 season).
Please keep in mind, this is a 46 year old vehicle which was underpowered, without power steering and other modern amenities. It does require someone with very recent experience driving a manual transmission!
