The Great Outdoors

Head South-west from Johnsonville in your RV rental and you will find Lake Marion, the largest lake in South Carolina. Because of its size, covering almost 110,000 acres and with a shoreline stretching 315 miles, it has gained the nickname of South Carolina’s Inland Sea. It was created in 1941 by damming the River Santee and now creates hydroelectricity for the surrounding area. The lake is well stocked with fish, including bass, perch, and catfish while wildlife such as deer, fox, and many species of birds have made their home at the lake.

RV Parks

Take your RV rental from Johnsonville to the Myrtle Beach KOA Resort, and you’re sure to have a great time. Featuring plenty of things for a family to do such as the outdoor movie cinema and two playgrounds, you’re also in the heart of the town’s attractions. Within walking distance are over 40 restaurants, amusement parks, miniature golf, and amazing beaches. Despite all the facilities, the campground sites are under shady trees and offer a respite from the all-action surroundings!

Exploring the City

To celebrate the towns connection with the American Revolution, the Johnsonville Heritage Festival is held every year in May at Venters Landing. The event includes various cooking competitions, games, face painting and rides for the kids, plus many other events throughout the day. It’s a genuine family event and remembrance for the local militia that fought during the war.

The camper had everything we needed for our stay in Ocean Lakes. We, including our fur babies, thoroughly enjoyed staying in the camper and we appreciate everything Matthew and Elizabeth did to make sure we had a pleasant stay😊😊😊
