Getting Outdoors

Magnolia Plantation and Gardens is a botanical garden that is open to the public year-round. The garden has attractions such as the family mansion that was built near Summerville before the American Revolution and then floated downstream to its present location after the Civil War. It also has a nature tram that starts from the main parking lot and takes you on a scenic tour of the plantation. On the tour, you will pass through forests, wetlands, and marshes, and past lakes, observing alligators, turtles, herons, and other resident wildlife.
