Discover Summerville RV rentals for memorable road trips

Just minutes outside of Charleston, South Carolina, the city of Summerville may be just the spot to book an RV in Dorchester County. Frequently referred to as the “Flower Town in the Pines”, Summerville was first established as a summer getaway for Charleston residents seeking reprieve from seasonal insects and “Swamp Fever.” It was not officially a town until 1847 though, and has continued to be a great escape for those traveling to the region. Once you have arranged to pick up your Summerville RV rental, you have the option to check out the charm of the local buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places or enjoy the southern hospitality of the locals who own and operate a variety of shops and restaurants. While Summerville offers a number of opportunities to take advantage of, you are only minutes away from shopping, dining and award-winning beaches that Charleston has to offer.

The Great Outdoors

The beaches of Charleston are not the only place you can get some fresh air and enjoy the great outdoors when you rent an RV in Summerville, SC. In fact, South Carolina is home to several national and state parks.

RV Parks

No matter where you decide to park your Summerville rental camper or RV, Summerville and the surrounding areas have a few different options that may fit your preferences. Some RV travelers prefer to be just outside of Charleston so that they can take advantage of being closer to the coast where they can enjoy the beaches and fresh-caught seafood. Others, however, prefer to head north of Summerville to enjoy the southern charm without so much commercial development. With any RV trip, it can be hard to make a choice as to which park will best fit your needs, so consider the length of time you will be in that area, and what amenities you will need to ensure a fun and stress-free trip. Regardless of the park you choose in the Summerville area, you are certain to have easy access to I-26, so venturing to other areas in the state will be a breeze.

This is the first time I have used Outdoorsy & likewise, the first time I have used an RV. I was green and hesitant to make this exchange, because one, I care and was nervous to avoid destroying someone’s valuable commodity and two, I had the wherewithal to admit that I wasn’t confident in what I was doing. I must admit that my host John was extraordinary in this entire exchange. He was flexible in his schedule to meet with me, to teach me, to coach me, to exchange the keys, to bring me the RV, to set me up for success and even offered to give me a ride home when I returned the RV. Now, keep in mind that I happened to live very close nearby, so I don’t think potential renters should expect a free ride home from the host. I will say, my host made this experience much less difficult for me and I am always very impressed with someone who puts forth so much effort. I assume he brings the energy in every booking! After a solid rain day on the trip and observing the primitive tenters’ get obliterated, I was reassured I had certainly made the right decision in using outdoorsy and booking the RV. All in all, a great experience and some good memories were made. Thank you so much to our host, who allowed us to share the Rambler with them- I wish you the best and I will come find you again when the time is ripe.
