Discover DeSoto RV rentals for memorable road trips

Settled in 1847 and known for being one of the oldest communities in the state of Texas, DeSoto is a lively suburb of Dallas. The city is named for a doctor in the early community, Thomas Hernando DeSoto Stewart. For nearly 100 years, DeSoto remained a tiny community, with a dwindling population throughout the two world wars. It was not until incorporation in 1949 that the city finally began to expand, with a rapidly growing population in the area.

Explore the Outdoors

Once you get away from the hustle and bustle of the Dallas metropolitan area, you can start thinking about where you want to head first in your DeSoto camper rental. Cedar Hill State Park is a large park on the edges of the metro area that provides a natural oasis to escape to on weekends. The park is on the banks of Joe Pool Lake, a vital part of the park’s appeal, especially in the sweltering Texas summertime. You can take a refreshing dip in the waters of the lake, go for a boat ride, fish for dinner, or camp out on the shores in your DeSoto RV rental by owner. The park is only ten miles southwest of Dallas and has its own fishing pier, picnic area, bicycle trails, boat ramps, and an agricultural history museum.

RV Parks to Visit

You might not find too many options when it comes to campgrounds for you and your DeSoto camper rental right in town, but it gets easier to find RV parks nearby when you branch out a bit. Good Luck RV Park is in the area and it's within walking distance of several restaurants and shops. This urban park has laundry facilities, a dog park, and quite a few other amenities.

City Sightseeing

DeSoto is blessed to be so close to both Fort Worth and Dallas, so visitors to the city have a seemingly infinite number of attractions and points of interest to sift through while they visit. The Perot Museum of Nature and Science is one of many places where you can learn about natural history and the ancient animals that once walked the earth. This unbelievable facility does its best to inspire and cultivate a love of science, with awesome displays and towering dinosaur skeletons made from real fossils.

Loria and Dani were fantastic hosts and make the process super easy. Their camper was extremely clean and included everything one would need for a great holiday - from good towels to games, and easy to navigate labeled containers with RV items like electrical cords and such. They both served in the military and you could tell through the organization and great communication. Highly recommend for family of 4. Camper was easy to drive.
