Discover Lake Corsicana RV rentals for memorable road trips

Often referred to as Richland-Chambers Reservoir, Lake Corsicana was created in 1989 when the dam project was completed. It is the third-largest reservoir in Texas by surface area and 8th largest by water volume. Because the dam is one of the newer ones, the lake isn’t on many people’s radar when it comes to choosing their fishing adventure. As a result, Lake Corsicana tends to be less crowded than the other older reservoirs.

Getting Outdoors

Shaped like the letter Y or like a gaping alligator maw, depending on how creative your imagination is, Lake Corsicana is considered one of the best bass fishing spots in east Texas. Multiple bass fishing tournaments have been held on the lake over the years. In addition to largemouth, white and hybrid striped bass, which grows natively, the lake is stocked with Florida bass, copper nose bluegill, and blue catfish.

Camping at Lake Corsicana

There’s nothing better than stepping out your RV rental on a misty morning and catching a string of fish for breakfast. Fresh fish cooked over a campfire is the quintessential camping meal. While there are no state-run campgrounds at the lake, there are several private campgrounds for you to choose from for your RV camping adventure.

Exploring the area

A rental motorhome makes driving from town to town in search of the perfect museum, boutique shop, or quirky art gallery painless. This region is steeped in history, and many towns have small museums that acknowledge its role in the past. The Freestone County Museum in Fairfield explores the history of cowboys and has several authentic tools and gear used by the cowboys of yore like saddles, lariats, and hats. Also on display are toys used by pioneer children, an old fashioned printing press, and telegrams.

Chris has been an exceptional host. the travel trailer was clean, fresh smelling, well stocked, and roomy. we have a small, no slides travel trailer that sprung a leak right before our trip, necessitating a rental, and honestly, I never want to camp in ours again! Chris was early to drop the trailer off, had everything set up for us, made sure we had plenty of bedding, towels, toilet paper, and kitchen ware. During the trip he responded promptly to our questions (which were few) and arrived back within plenty of time before check out. he was a great host and we will definitely reach out to book again with him for our next local trip.
