Montague is an unincorporated community and a census-designated place in Montague County, Texas. It was established when the state of Texas donated land for the community in 1858. By 1880, it had several businesses, churches, and a school. At the time, the only flour and grist mills in the county were in Montague, but the town was isolated. Attempts to connect the town to Bowie with an independent rail line failed because of a lack of money and the city, which had become incorporated in 1886, voted to disincorporate in 1900. By the 1970s, highways had replaced the railroads, and the town began to grow once more.

The Great Outdoors
Lake Arrowhead State Park is a semi-arid, gently rolling prairie surrounding the namesake lake. It is a refuge for waterfowl and wading birds, and a variety of fish species such as bass, catfish, and crappie. Guests can enjoy swimming on an unsupervised beach, waterskiing, and boating. Hiking and horseback riding is allowed, as well as camping. There is a disc golf course and also some picnic spots. The park can loan binoculars, bird books, and fishing equipment to guests.

There is also a Chinese memorial cemetery and a casino with live bands and a shuttle bus. The RV was perfect and had everything we needed for our camping family reunion. The generator was huge so the two air conditioners kept the big camper nice and cool for the hot July weekend. Garrett was the very best host. He delivered the camper and set up everything for us. Then he explained how everything worked and was very patient with all our questions. He was very responsive every time I sent a message before and during the rental. Garrett really is the perfect host with the perfect camper. We will definitely rent from him again.
