The tiny village of Point is located in northern Texas, about an hour's drive outside of Dallas. Point was settled towards the end of the 19th century when it first became a “flag section” along the important Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad. It was originally named Rice’s Point after one of its first settlers but later shortened to Point in the subsequent years.

The population of Point ebbed and flowed throughout the years, growing rapidly in its early years, and declining during the Great Depression. After the creation of the nearby human-made Lake Tawakoni, tourism became a major industry in the small community, putting it on the map as a North Texas travel destination worth knowing about. When you book an RV in Point, you’ll have the option to spend your time by Lake Tawakoni, driving to the major cities of Texas like Dallas or Houston, and visiting some of the best parks and recreation areas in the region.
