Discover Spanaway RV rentals for memorable road trips

On the outskirts of Tacoma, and an hour's drive south of Seattle lies the large, unincorporated community of Spanaway. The area was first settled by people from the east in the middle of the 19th century. Spanaway is only the latest name in a long succession of previously scrapped titles, like Spanueh Lake, Bushalier, and Lake Park.

The Great Outdoors

There are so many delightful things to see and places to visit when you rent an RV in Spanaway, or anywhere in Washington for that matter. The state is among the most naturally beautiful places you could imagine, known for its rich evergreen forests and colossal mountain peaks. A fine place to start your trip right is Alder Lake Park, located south of Spanaway on the shores of Alder Lake. The lake itself is quite gorgeous, with shimmering waters that reflect the massive mountains in the background. There are several campgrounds and day use areas at Alder Lake, with lots of winding trails for hiking and mountain biking. Camping out in your Spanaway camper rental is an excellent way to reach a state of relaxation, and bathing in the fresh lake water is a nice way to cool off in the summertime. Lake Tapps Park is another local lakefront park with lots of fun activities. There are exquisite beaches, BBQ grills, picnic areas, pavilions, grassy fields, and even boat launches to help people bring their watercraft to the lake.

RV Friendly

When you first arrive in town and pick up your Spanaway camper rental, you’ll want to get situated and find where you will be staying before you do anything else. Luckily there are a few options nearby. South Prairie RV Park has a creek flowing through it, and over 20 miles of nature trails for guests to use. There is a convenience store and deli so you can pick up food and supplies during your stay.

City Attractions

Spanaway is mostly a collection of homes and residential areas, so if you are hoping to paint the town and indulge in some fun-filled nightlife, you might be disappointed. The city of Tacoma is a short drive from Spanaway however, so you definitely have options when you rent an RV in the area. The Washington State History Museum is a fabulous resource for anyone hoping to discover the past of Washington. Hands-on displays and informative exhibits recount the stories of the native tribes of Washington, along with the Lewis & Clark Expedition and the first settlers.

We had an amazing tour of the Olympic Peninsula. The van was clean, well-equipped and maintained. The host Josh had great communication, and responded very quickly to the couple of questions that came up during our journey.

The title for this review is... I would absolutely do it again!
This was my first RV rental and had my fingers crossed that the experience would be easy and fun. I'm happy to say that going through Outdoorsy and coordinating with Scot was exactly that! This trip was 4 days at Taidnapam Park in Washington State. I was attending an event sponsored by my employer and from being able to sort options, by amenities like A/C and if it could be delivered to the specific park I was going to be at, was a HUGE time saver. I also loved the fact that the cost of delivery was INCLUDED in the estimated rental cost of my search results. I decided on Scot's 30' 2024 Jayco travel trailer for several reasons. A few of the most important were... 1. I was planning to travel with my sister & best friend, so I was looking for multiple adult sleeping areas. 2. Kitchen area that we could use to prep for individual and potluck style meals. 3. Comfortable seating options. A bonus criteria was overall appearance. This RV was a homerun on everything I was looking for. There were (3) Queen beds; including bunkbeds at the back. It was nice that there were windows on both levels and even the bottom bunk had ok headroom. The master bed was very comfortable, but the bunkbed mattresses were a little thin. I would recommend bringing individual camp sleeping pads for people using these beds. The kitchen area was amazing! Somewhat limited counter space, but the dinette is convenient for prep with the provided cutting boards, bowls, knives & utensils. This set up had the added bonus of keeping the combined living area open & usable while letting you still feel like you were hanging with the group. AND there is a very roomy refrigerator and freezer unit inside and a small fridge in the outdoor kitchen area and a decent sized pantry. We had plenty of room for our food & snacks. Regarding appearance, the pictures show it how it really is. It is well maintained and gave us that Glamping feel. Last note, Scot was easy to communicate with and very responsive to questions. The drop off & pick up were problem free. Great experience and I highly recommend this specific RV & host!

Such an easy process working with Dan and Andy. The RV was perfect for our weekend at Lake Wenatchee. Every part of the process was stress free.
