When camping in a rental motorhome at Hoosier National Forest, take advantage of your Bedford camper rental by touring the region’s towns as much as possible. The Freeman Army Airfield Museum is a hidden gem tucked away in Seymour. Housed in two WW-II-era buildings, the museum has several artifacts relating to the area’s heritage in pilot training. Some of the most interesting exhibits include a World War II-era flight simulator as well as an original Ford/American-LaFrance fire truck from 1942. Top up on gas and point your travel trailer towards Louisville, home to the world-famous Kentucky Fried Chicken. The Colonel Sanders Museum pays tribute to the mind behind the secret recipe of 11 herbs and spices. At this mini-museum, you’ll get to view a timeline of the life of Harland Sanders, the founder of KFC. Aside from that, you’ll see the company commercials, some of his memorabilia, and even the suits he wore. There’s no better way to prove you’ve been here than by posing for a selfie with the wax sculpture of colonel sanders. Walking across the Big Four Bridge is one of the coolest things one can do in Louisville. Dating back to 1895, the former railroad truss bridge is a six span bridge spanning 2,525 feet across the Ohio River. A two-mile-long round trip across the bridge to Jeffersonville offers stunning views of downtown Louisville as well as the river below. The Louisville Zoo is worth checking out if the kids tagged along. The zoo is home to a vast array of species, including gorillas, tigers, and even elephants. After checking out the animals, ride a carousel with the kids to unwind before hopping back to your rental RV.
