While spending your time here, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy many different activities. You can start by hiking and mountain biking the trails that run through the woods surrounding the lake. There are almost two dozen miles worth of trail that you can use for these activities; while you're hiking or biking, you should also take the time to observe the plant and animal life that the park supports. You may see white-tailed deer and wild turkey, coyotes, and raccoons, just to name a few species. An additional two dozen miles of trails are designated for horseback riding, but hiking is allowed along these trails as well. The park is a good destination for fishing, with stocks of crappie and channel catfish on hand. You'll find these species in different areas of the lake, with the crappie in and around Slough Creek, Rock Creek, and Old Town; the catfish are usually near the upper reservoir area and in the Delaware River. The lake has several boat ramps you can use, and motorboats are allowed; camping with an RV means you can take your catch straight from the lake to your fridge. Hunting is allowed, with migrant bird species open to hunting early in the year and mallards and diving ducks in the fall. If you're seeking a more relaxing activity, the park has several picnic shelters; some of them can be reserved while others are used on a first-come, first-served basis. All are located within the park's day-use areas, and the combination of forest, lake, and open sky scenery is enough to make any picnic a complete success. There's a beach where you can go swimming, and a beach house is available for changing clothes should the day turn out to be a hot one (these are open to the public during the summer months).
