Visitors camping in an RV in Manchester State Park will be glad to hear that there are around 15 sites with water and electric hookups. Out of the park's 50 campsites, the remaining 35 are primitive. There's also a dump station near the camp entrance. Each space comes equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. The maximum RV length allowed is 60 feet, and you can also bring your pets, provided they're leashed throughout your stay. Restrooms and showers are nearby, and generator use is allowed between 8:00 AM to 9:30 PM. You can make a reservation up to nine months in advance.

Here, you'll get a better picture of what life at South Kitsap was like for the past century through rotating exhibits. To make the experience more engaging, the museum tells the story of the Orchard Family, which is a family of mannequins that lives in the cabin. Venture just a few minutes down the same road and you'll find the Elandan Gardens. This bonsai museum is set among lush gardens, waterfalls, ponds, and sculptures. Walk among the old-growth trees and grab a unique antique from the gift shop. Around 20 minutes away from the state park, in the town of Bremerton, you'll find the Bug & Reptile Museum. If you've ever wondered how bugs perceive the world, you'll be able to experience this new perspective firsthand, as the museum has special glasses that basically grant you bug vision. You'll also see the insects up close through a microscope, observe an eight-foot-long ant farm, and marvel at both live reptiles and insects. A few miles away from the park is the town of Port Orchard, where you'll find stores, gas stations, and a variety of eateries. The restaurant selection unfortunately leaves much to be desired, as there are only a few options, like Thai, Mexican, and American cuisine. Guests will have a lot more options should they decide to travel a bit further to Bremerton.
