RV rental Lake Keomah State Park, IA: Motorhome rentals, camper van rentals and more

Fringed by golden sand and a grassy foreshore, the swimming beach at Lake Keomah State Park is a fantastic place to soak up the sun. Calm, shallow water makes the beach a favorite with families. Picnic shelters dot the shoreline and are great for enjoying lunch with a view. There's also a lodge that makes an ideal venue for family reunions, birthday parties, weddings, and other group events. Trails wind through Lake Keomah State Park and offer year-round hiking opportunities. The three-mile trail to Keomah Village hugs the lakeshore and takes you into the pocket-sized town. As you explore the woodlands and marshy areas, watch for local wildlife like bullfrogs, blue herons, and quail. Things don't slow down in the winter, when the snow-dusted trails are used for snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. There's also a hill for sledding and tubing with the kids. Packing your fishing rod and tackle? In spring and summer, expect to reel in crappie, bluegill, largemouth bass, and channel catfish. Cast a line from the fishing jetty on the west side of the lake or launch a boat and access deeper water. Electric motors are allowed, or you can paddle canoes and kayaks. Ice fishing is a rewarding pastime for Lake Keomah State Park campers in the winter.
