Away from the water, you might like to set out on foot to explore the park's two-mile trail network. While Alta Lake State Park was severely damaged in the massive Carlton Complex fire of 2014, the natural beauty of the area has since been rejuvenated and restored. To enjoy the best of the natural scenery, you might want to hike the one-mile Bluff Trail or climb the switchbacks up to the ridge that overlooks the park — the views make the exertion of the trek well worth it.
