There's a lot to see when you're RV camping near Fort Necessity. Coopers Rock State Forest is a popular tourist destination nearby and with good reason. The forest is a historical landmark with diverse terrain and vegetation, and numerous opportunities for outdoor recreation. The forest is open year-round; while you're here, you can go hiking and mountain biking on the many miles of trails, climbing and bouldering on sandstone cliffs, fishing, rafting, or just relax and enjoy a picnic. In the winter, Coopers Rock State Forest is the ideal destination for cross-country skiing; also, it is minutes away from the charming town of Morgantown. State Game Lands Number 51 is 30 miles north of Farmington. It's one of several state-owned lands that act as a refuge for wildlife species and permit hunting when in season. These lands have access roads that can be used to move around in certain seasons, weather permitting; hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking are allowed on the lands outside of hunting season. In the winter, you can come here to go snowmobiling and finish your winter activities in the warmth and comfort of your Farmington camper rental. In nearby Mill Run, Fallingwater is a combination of natural area and architectural masterpiece, having been designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and completed in 1964. The area is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and, in addition to the waterfall that is blended so perfectly with the buildings, there is a visitor center that showcases artwork, a cafe that sources its ingredients locally and incorporates much of the local cuisine traditions, and tours you can take part in between early March and late December.
