Information About Roanoke, VA

The Roanoke River flows through the city of Roanoke. It creates beautiful scenery for the Roanoke Valley Greenways. Walk or jog along the paths, or cruise in style on a rented bicycle. The flat, paved trail is an excellent way to enjoy the outdoors in the city. Walk the trail up Mill Mountain Park to get to the Star and the expansive view from the Star platform. Take a walking, food, or craft beer tour around the city and discover some gems to revisit again. Visit the Virginia Museum of Transportation and see some of the first horse-drawn firetrucks. The section on aircraft is particularly interesting. An RV rental near Roanoke can take you deep into history or off to pretty outdoor spaces.
