Brookshire is a city in Waller County, Texas, just west of downtown Houston. It was named after Nathan Brookshire, a landowner and captain in the Texian Army (a military organization comprised of volunteer and regular soldiers). A plat was filed for the Town of Brookshire in 1893; the community was finally incorporated as the city of Brookshire in 1946.
