It’s nestled along the Franks Tract State Recreation Area and only about 50 miles outside the San Francisco city limits. El Dorado National Forest is a bit more than 100 miles away, but it can be a wonderful adventure when you rent an RV with family in this area. If you want to take advantage of the Pacific Ocean, you can visit Point Reyes National Seashore, just to the north of San Francisco. You can get there by choosing to either cross the Bay on Interstate 580 through San Quentin or take Interstate 80 into San Francisco and cross the Golden Gate Bridge. Mendocino National Forest north of Santa Rosa is a bit longer drive, but worth the trip if you love the great outdoors.
