Construction began in 1995, and it took four years for the reservoir to be filled, finally being completed in 2003. Water is supplied by the Colorado River Aqueduct, and the primary aim is to provide additional water during periods of drought.

Getting Outdoors

Covering over 4,500 acres, boating is a popular recreational activity at Diamond Valley Lake, but as this is a drinking water lake, some special restrictions are in place. Swimming is prohibited, and body to water contact is not allowed. There are numerous regulations on boat type that are permitted, plus all boats must be inspected before entering the water. To get around this, you can rent boats from the marina which will meet the regulations and will be already inspected.

Campgrounds are currently not available at Diamond Valley Lake, but there are plenty nearby for camping with an RV.

Took my grandkids camping and we had a blast rented the trailer from Jim Castro he delivered it as planned set it up told me to take pictures if I saw anything wrong we chatted very nice person I learned something from him I didn’t know his trailer was in very nice shape he had just about everything you needed if you forgot something I will definitely rent from him again thanks Jim

The RV was perfect for our camping trip and Sothy was great to respond in a timely manner for any questions we had. We opted for delivery and setup to the campsite and when we arrived, we just had to load our personal belongings in and start our holiday weekend. Absolutely recommend this Host and their trailer!
