The Great Outdoors

Rent an RV in Jacumba Hot Springs and make the short drive north to Goat Canyon - a desert landscape that’s home to the world’s largest all-wood trestle. It can be accessed along a challenging six-mile-long hike from the abandoned train station at Dos Cabezas, with the trail steadily climbing to the ridge line before descending to a dry waterfall and the bridge itself. It was constructed in 1933 as part of the San Diego and Arizona Eastern Railway after a tunnel through the Carrizo Gorge collapsed, with the new bridge made from wood (rather than metal) due to the extreme temperature fluctuations.

This was our first experience with an RV. We had a great time using this RV for a music festival, it was spacious enough to sleep 5 adults comfortably. The hosts were very attentive and when we experienced an unexpected issue with the water, they were quick to respond and provide recommendations and assistance.

We had an incredible experience with our RV rental! The hosts delivered the trailer right to my father-in-law’s ranch in Julian and set everything up for us perfectly; all the bells and whistles! Aesthetics matter to me, and to my surprise, they added lovely little touches and decorations that made it feel cozy and homey. The kitchen had all the basics; we hardly had to bring anything and the whole trailer was super clean. The sleeping arrangements were spacious, and honestly, the beds were probably more comfortable than our beds at home! We also appreciated the thoughtful extras like the outdoor mats, a Keurig machine, and the fireplace heater that kept us warm on chilly Julian mornings. We paid extra for the bedding package, and it was so worth it; clean, comfortable, and ready to go. The whole process was smooth, with easy drop-off and pick-up, and the hosts were super communicative and offered to help if needed. We’ll definitely be renting this RV again, highly recommend!

Pick-up and drop-off were a breeze. Cindy gave me great instructions on how to use everything on the campervan, and everything worked amazingly. The battery and water tank lasted us with sparing use of air-conditioning, and multiple meals and showers through a five day trip. This was my first time using a campervan, and everything about it was a fantastic experience.
