The two-million-acre forest stretches from Monterrey on the Big Sur Coast all the way down to the Los Angeles area, with varying ecosystems and several mountain ranges. Castaic Lake RV Park is minutes from the lake too and has more amenities you might enjoy, like a playground for children, a nice pool, and a convenience store for your shopping needs. Acton/Los Angeles North KOA is another place to park near the city and has its own pool, dog park, and pavilion for guests.

Lake Hughes is hardly a place you would visit to enjoy a night on the town. In fact, there aren’t many attractions or places to eat as it is a small community consisting of cottages. If you love animals, there are two amazing facilities you can visit. The Quail Run Ranch is a fun ostrich farm where guests can interact with the strange creatures and feed them too. Shadowlands Foundation is the other animal facility in town but acts as more of a rehabilitation sanctuary rather than a zoo. This amazing organization rehabilitates and protects wolves, and is run by passionate people who want to educate people about the importance of these noble creatures.

In nearby Lancaster, you can see some other cool attractions, like the Antelope Valley Indian Museum. This small museum is informative and educational with lots of fascinating artifacts on display. A wealth of informative exhibits is somehow packed into the small space making it all the more impressive. The Museum of Art & History, or MOAH, is a place of high culture in the middle of the desert. This lovely facility houses lots of art from both local and far away artists in a brilliantly laid out gallery.
