With saltwater marshes and mangrove wetlands, the estuary is considered to be one of the most biologically diverse areas in the entire country. Cape Canaveral National Seashore is an obvious choice seeing as it shares a name with the town. This stunning park by the sea has over 50,000 acres of land and brings in over a million beachgoers each year. The 25-mile stretch of beach is the longest expanse of undeveloped land on the east coast of Florida. There are thousands of different plant species and hundreds of bird types that call the park home. On clear days, you can see space shuttles take off for outer space from across the water. There are so many other beaches, national forests, and national parks in Florida to venture to if you have the time, like Everglades National Park or Biscayne National Park.
