However, no gas motors are allowed on the lakes, so fishing is done from kayaks, canoes, and small jon boats. If you want to go camping in Colt Creek State Park, you'll need to book an RV in Polk County and then find yourself a spot in the park's spacious campground.

Tucked away amid the pine flatwoods, the campground has 27 RV campsites and six tent-only sites. All sites are pet-friendly and boast 30- and 50-amp electrical hookups.

Happily, there's a decent amount of space between each site so that you don't feel like you're right on top of your neighbors. Some larger sites are capable of accommodating RVs of up to 70 feet, while two sites in the campground are also designed to be accessible to people with disabilities. The bathhouse is also accessible, clean, and offers flush toilets and showers.

Finally, a dump station is provided near the campground entrance when you need to dispose of waste safely. An equestrian campground is also available within the park, while two primitive campgrounds (accessible only by foot, mountain bike, or horseback) cater to tent campers.

There's a lot to love about Colt Creek State Park, so you'll no doubt want to take the time to experience the best the park has to offer. But when you're ready to take your rental RV on the road once again, you'll find lots of other great destinations within easy reach.
