Lake Rousseau lies in northwestern Florida, between the towns and cities of Crystal River and Ocala. Lake Rousseau is a reservoir created in the early 1900s by the damming of the Withlacoochee River; the lake continued to supply the local area with hydroelectricity for many decades. Now, with its excellent recreational potential and close proximity to Florida’s cities, it has become the perfect place to take an RV rental. Access to the lake with a rental RV is even easier with both Highway 40 and Highway 41 passing along its northern and western shore. Campgrounds can be found throughout the Lake Rousseau area, making camping with an RV here a simple undertaking.
