The Great Outdoors

There are lots of amazing outdoor spaces to explore when you rent a campervan in Freeport, and one you can visit without leaving the city limits is Krape Park. This award-winning park is full of exciting activities to enjoy, including a mini-golf course, a carousel, and an amphitheater. This heavily wooded park is dissected by Yellow Creek, allowing visitors to fish, kayak and ice skate during the winter. There are many short hiking trails all roughly a mile long, making this the ideal place for a quick walk with your pup.

Exploring the City

As Freeport is the county seat of Stephenson County, you'll be in one of the best cities around for fine dining and shopping. Rockford is about 30 miles away and is a much bigger city with a lot to offer. If you're looking for a cultural activity when you book a travel trailer rental in Freeport, then consider a visit to the Freeport Art Museum. In a disused brick schoolhouse, this museum has a large collection including historical and contemporary art. This artwork includes tribal art from Papua New Guinea, 19th-century Bolivian textiles, and much more.

Very easy to work with. Prompt responses to questions about the trip and the RV itself. Were willing to work with us on an earlier pickup time. The RV was exactly what we were looking for and functioned as expected.

Kevin was the perfect host for first-time RV renters- great communication, great documentation on the inner workings of the rig, friendly and helpful. The RV itself was clean and in great working condition. If you are a side-sleeper, I highly recommend bringing extra padding for the master bed; the wooden ledge was a killer on the hips. There were decent supplies provided, like disposable dishes, pot & pan, paper towels, etc. We brought our own coffee maker and mugs, as those are not provided. RV drove well but it was loud in the cabin, so bring some earplugs.

Camper was in great condition. Clean and well stocked with supplies. Bill went out of his way to fill the water tank ahead of time and made sure the correct tow hitch was available for us to use. He responded to all of our questions very quickly.
Overall we had a great trip in Bill’s camper
