Getting Outdoors

An easily accessible two-lane concrete boat ramp is crucial to the enjoyment of Lake Carlton since it makes loading and unloading boats a breeze. Boating is a very popular activity on this lake, but more for fishing than water sports since there is a no-wake rule for the lake. This no-wake rule protects the shores from wave erosion, but boats can still travel across the water to fish and relax.

Camping at Lake Carlton

You shouldn’t have too much trouble finding a place to camp when you rent a camper near Lake Carlton. Given that the lake is surrounded by Morrison-Rockwood State Park, you’ll have to access the park to get to the lake, and while in the park you’ll be able to easily stay at one of the many campsites on location. There are over 90 sites located in the heavily wooded areas of the park, and each site has access to electricity, a grill, and its own table.

Exploring the Area

The nearby town of Sterling, although not as close as Morrison, has a great selection of restaurants when you are looking to eat out for a meal or three. Morrison has a few small food options, including a delightful mom and pop style diner, but some guests may find the overall diversity and options lacking. Sterling, on the other hand, has at least a dozen different types of restaurants to keep your palate happy during your camping trip.
