Getting Outdoors

Wolf Lake is popular for both fishing and boating. Anglers can expect to catch largemouth bass, northern pike, bluegill, and walleye along with some other species. Shore and boat fishing are both possible, and powered boats are allowed, but with a maximum power of 10 horsepower. Three boat launches are located around the shoreline, and remember to get your fishing license. Wolf Lake water is beautifully clear, and anglers can literally choose which fish they want to catch! Ice fishing is possible in the winter when the ice is thick enough, and there is parking for your rental RV in Wolf Lake Memorial Park.

Camping at Lake Wolf

There are no campgrounds at Wolf Lake, but plenty of choice in the local area. To the west, and away from the Chicago suburbs near the town of Joliet is Martin’s Campground, which has been open since 1970. With over 100 campsites, all with electrical hookups, pull-thru sites, and some sites with sewer hookups, this could be the perfect stop in your rental RV. On-site are hot showers and restrooms, and a small store selling essentials such as LP gas.

Exploring the Area

Being located on the outskirts of Chicago, there are plenty of facilities nearby, such as gas stations, grocery stores, and restaurants. The city center is just a few miles away.

We loved our trip on Fiona’s camper van! It was perfectly cozy and well laid out for cooking and hanging - even in the cold temps we had during our trip. Best of all, it was the perfect place for our proposal!

This was the first time I had ever driven a van or RV. Jacob walked me through the entire process and answered any questions we had prior to our trip. The van was very easy to drive, clean, and had everything we needed. Jacob offered to help whenever needed and was kind and generous with his time. We had an amazing trip and didn't have to worry about anything. I would highly recommend renting from them.

Highly recommend! Chris was a great host and the trailer was immaculate. Everything was clean and organized and the trailer was fully stocked, from camping chairs to pots and pans. The trailer was very spacious, modern and very comfortable. A great value and would rent again and again. Thank you!
