Getting Outdoors
The Crooked Lake Nature Trail is an easy 1.9-mile loop that starts and ends at the entrance to Crooked Lake Nature Preserve. There are great views of the lake, forest to stroll through and plenty of birdlife to look out for. A lovely walk for all skill levels, and your dog can come along as well. There is also parking for your rental RV at the Nature Preserve.
Camping at Crooked Lake
There are no campgrounds at Crooked Lake, but there are plenty of choices nearby. The Blue Lake Campground, near Churubusco, has all the facilities you need for a great family vacation. Full hookup and pull-thru sites are available, and this could be a peaceful, relaxed family campground, perfect for a quiet getaway in your rental RV. On-site you will find a large store for all your groceries, a laundry, and modern showers and toilets. To keep you entertained, there’s a sandy beach with a volleyball court, basketball and dodgeball courts, boat hire and a boat ramp. Highspeed WiFi is available for a small cost.
Exploring the Area
Just north of Crooked Lake is the small community of Tri-Lakes. Here you can find all your daily essentials, such as a gas station and grocery store while RV camping at state parks nearby. For greater choice, head south a few miles to Columbia City, where you should find just about anything you need, with a great choice of shops and restaurants.

We had a great experience renting a van from Darren and Amanda. When we arrived to pick up the van Darren spent time with us going over all the features. It was spotless and in good working order. We are considering buying a van, when we returned from our trip Darren spent time with us answering all of our questions about the van. All communications with Darren were answered promptly.
