Discover Mississinewa Lake RV rentals for memorable road trips

Mississinewa Lake is a human-made lake that was created following the construction of an earthen dam on the Mississinewa River. The purpose of the dam was to prevent flooding and to provide water resources for irrigation. The completion of the dam led to the creation of several nearby recreation areas. Mississinewa Lake has become a popular outdoor recreation area where visitors can enjoy hiking, biking, and fishing. Several hiking trails lace around the lake and surrounding wilderness. Rent an RV near Mississnewa Lake and park it by the water to observe bald eagles, orioles, and other resident birdlife. Fish species swimming in the lake include northern pike, bass, and perch. The lake is one of several reservoirs in the region; it is surrounded by forest expanses, prairie, and farmland.

Getting Outdoors

Miami State Recreation Area was named after the Miami Trading Post, which was built in 1817 near the mouth of the Mississinewa River. The park is open year-round for both summer and winter activities. You can enjoy hiking on the park's numerous trails, which range from less than a mile to several miles in length. You can also go fishing and boating on the lake; in the winter, ice fishing is allowed. You can swim in the lake or go water skiing, and hunting is permitted within specifically marked areas.

Our host explained everything perfectly to help us feel comfortable with this RV. Additionally, they were very accommodating with times for delivery and drop off given that it was the busy holiday season. The RV drives so nicely, is well stocked, super clean, and very cozy. Loved it and will absolutely rent again!

When we embarked on our first camping adventure, we were not sure what we were doing. The first right decision we made was to rent a camper from Brennan! The camper was beautiful and supplied with most everything we needed. We definitely cooked and lived in the camper -- not just slept in the camper. My husband is a big muscular guy and couldn't fit in the shower, so we used the campground showers -- which worked out well. Even when the heater didn't work in 30 degree temps, Brennan was there to help and always answered our questions along the way. The only advice we gave her was to provide an updated list of what she supplied because we brought more than we needed! She thought of everything and we are grateful and blessed to have been able to share her "home" for a week!
