The Great Outdoors

Unique to Machiasport, Jaspar Beach is lined with billions of smoothed, glossy rocks of varying colors. The waves resonate off the rocks almost melodically. The beach area is tucked in Howard’s Cove and offers no public restrooms or other amenities. Be sure to bring what you need for a beach day when you cruise here in your RV rental. You might want to bring shoes if it’s a sunny day; the rocks sure do act as a heating pad. Free spa day anyone?!

RV Parks

Even though you are in the Maine wilderness, this little port town doesn’t offer much for overnight spots for travelers passing on through here. The closest Walmart is an hour away in Calais, which isn’t the most ideal distance but the option is there should you be unable to find another for a quick overnight stay. Just be sure to have a chat with the managers to make sure camping out in the parking lot is okay.

Of the shops available, you’ll be able to find one-of-a-kind mementos for a reminder of this RV rental trip to Machiasport. Great trip. Host was available and willing to go above and beyond. Because I have a disability and cannot walk very far, I would change the pickup and drop-off point. Longterm parking at Bangor airport does not have shuttle service so it was a challenge walking the entire length of lot with two suitcases. The Van was comfy and easy to drive. Would definitely recommend host Abbie.
