The park is found in the southwestern portion of the state and was one of the first state parks to be developed in Maine. The resort town of Naples, lies just outside the park's borders, while a larger town, Windham, is found about 13 miles to the southeast. The nearest large city is Portland, located approximately 30 miles to the southeast, and sits on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean.

The park is largely forested, with the Crooked River splitting it down the middle. The site offers a variety of activities, including camping, hiking, biking and picnicking. As it sits on a large lake, it offers visitors the chance to enjoy numerous water and paddle sports, as well as fishing. It is also a prime spot for viewing leaf colors in the fall.

Getting Outdoors

Renting an RV at this park will allow you to enjoy all the recreational activities it provides. Sebago Lake, along with Jordan Bay, which branches off of it, is a mainstay of the park. These bodies of water are perfect for fishing, boating, riding a jet ski and paddle sports. Swimming areas are also available, to aid visitors in escaping the summer heat. Paddle a canoe or kayak on the river that feeds into these lakes and enjoy the serene sound of birdsong that surrounds you from the nearby forestland.

Several miles of hiking trails snake throughout the park. These are converted into groomed, cross-country ski trails during the winter months. The trails wander along the shoreline, providing expansive views of the nearby lake. They also make their way through the woodland areas that border the lake. You may be lucky enough to spot some of the many wildlife that call this area home, including deer, bald eagles, and other waterfowl, on your trek.

The park also features ball fields, where games like baseball and softball are enjoyed, as well as a playground for children to clamber on. Horseshoe courts are offered here as well, as are picnic facilities, some of which are wheelchair accessible. With a large lake nearby, beach access is also available at several points.
