Portsmouth Harbour Trail
One great way to know the city and its history it to take the Harbour Trail Tour. Beginning June to early October. You'll discover Portsmouth?s landmarks, historic downtown and waterfront. Tours are given by trained guides.
Country Store Camping Area
Would you like to explore Lawrence in Massachusetts? It's a lovely city, with plenty of good restaurants, bars, and pubs. If so, make Country Store Camping Area your base. It's only 14 miles away from Lawrence, in Kingston, New Hampshire, so you won't have far to travel. It is in a beautiful wooded location, with a 300-acre lake, which has a lovely sandy beach for sunbathing and swimming. There is also a boat launch and dock area, which is perfect if you want to go fishing or just enjoy a pleasant boating experience, admiring the wildlife. The campsite itself is wooded for shade, and is clean and spacious. You get full hookup, restrooms, showers, and cable TV. If you want to spend the day at the camp instead of going out, there is plenty to do in addition to the lake. There is a playground for the kids, and a separate area for toddlers. You can play volleyball, softball, basketball, ping pong, and horseshoes. There is a recreation hall where you can play bingo, join in a karaoke or lip sync contest, and take part in adult and teen dances. At holiday weekends, there are cookouts.
McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center
Over 20,000 square feet of engineering, interactive science exhibits, outdoor exhibits including a life size replica of the famous Mercury-Redstone rocket, a digital planetarium and an observatory. If you happened to be around in June you can take part in the Aerospacefest, where you can drive a robot, create nanotubes from balloons, and much more.
Great Meadow Campground
You'll have access to 35 acres of wooded sites and a 40 acre pond. You can fish, kayak and canoe. Enjoy group volleyball, badminton, fireplace, picnics and nature trails. The campground is located off scenic Route 4 in Chichester. The park caters to seasonal guests but does have a few short term sites available. A great destination if renting an RV for the NASCAR weekend.
Twin Oaks Campground
The camp is nestled in the Merrimack Region on the Suncook River, wildlife opportunities abound. But visitors will only minutes from the city and all its bright lights. You can enjoy amenities such as free Wi-Fi, spacious sites, honeywagon service, in-ground pool, fishing, canoeing, and a playground. For novice RV rental drivers use caution in the trees here.
Strawbery Banke Museum
The neighborhood's history traces back to 1630, and today it is a living museum. Visitors will be treated to tours by costumed role players, learn about the arts and crafts of the day, heritage gardens, and eat traditional foods.
Located along the waterfront, you can relax enjoy the 10 acres of flower gardens, pathways, and grass areas perfect for a picnic. You can also enjoy the Arts Festival where you can watch alfresco theater performances and listen to music.
North Hampton, NH
Centrally located less than 4 miles from Rye or North Hampton beaches, 6 miles from the popular Hampton Beach, and only 8 miles away from the historic Portsmouth district. The campground provides a basecamp for touring the seacoast. Everything here is a short drive away such as the Kittery outlet malls, antique stores, boutique shops and local restaurants.
