Beaver Trail Campground, west of the lake, offers a wide range of amenities to RV campers. Full hookups are provided, including 20, 30 amp electric, water, and sewage. A dump station and RV storage unit is also available at Beaver Trail Campground. Many pull-thru sites are located here, so big rigs are more than welcome.

Exploring the Area

Those with an interest in Michigan's rural history should head north to the city of Grayling and visit the ‘Hartwick Pines Logging Museum.' Situated among some of the last remaining white pines, this museum has a range of exhibits depicting the history of the logging industry here, when Michigan was the leading lumber provider in the entire nation. The museum also recreates a bunkhouse, cook’s shack, mess hall, and blacksmith shop for visitors to explore, providing an insight into daily life in late 19th century Michigan. Throughout the summer here, costumed performers demonstrate the activities of an 1890’s logging camp.
