The city of Lockport is located in upstate New York, close to the border with Canada. It is a small but growing city which is surrounded by the much larger cities of Niagara Falls, Buffalo, and Rochester. Lockport was shaped by the development of the Erie barge canal which intersects the town. This was important to commerce in the region during the early 1800s as it allowed larger ships to pass through. No longer used by barges, this canal now makes an ideal spot for anglers, joggers, and dog walkers.

The Great Outdoors
One of the biggest draws to the area is Niagara Falls. This immensely powerful waterfall is world-famous, and its strength is something that everyone should witness. There are plenty of ways to see it too, from viewing platforms or by boat ride. There's even the Skylon Tower, located just across the border in Canada. This tower gives you a 360-degree view of Niagara Falls and the surrounding city skylines from an elevation of over 700 feet. You can even grab a bite to eat from one of two restaurants while you enjoy the view.
RV Parks
When you rent a motorhome in Lockport, there are a variety of places to set up your basecamp. Scott's Family Campground is just across the border in Ontario. This large campground has over 230 gravel campsites available. Each site has 15 and 50 amp electricity, and around 100 sites have full hookups. Each site also comes with a table and trash pick-up. All ages are welcome, and despite its size, it's worth calling ahead to make a reservation just in case.
Exploring the City
One of the best ways to explore the area when you book an RV in Lockport is via its historical and beautiful canals. The Erie Canal is no longer used to transport goods, making it the perfect way to see Lockport. Tours along the canal will take you through its five locks, used to raise and lower the water level to allow ships to pass through. You'll also pass under lift bridges and under Lockport's Big Bridge, one of the widest bridges in the U.S. This is a unique way of viewing Lockport which the whole family will enjoy.
