The small town of Sanford, North Carolina is found in the heart of the state between the large cities of Raleigh and Charlotte. Sanford is named for C.O. Sanford, a railroad engineer who was responsible for bringing the first railways to the town. Sanford, as well as its surroundings, is a historical hotbed for action, often times the sight of skirmishes and battles from the Revolutionary War and the Civil War. It is clear to all that visit that the quaint buildings hail from a time long ago, some of which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
