If you are looking for a campground close to Elyria in Ohio, Timber Ridge Campground is an excellent choice. It's only 11 miles away from Elyria, so you won't have far to travel to the city. You get full hookup and WiFi, and there are restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities. The setting is beautiful, with large green open spaces, plenty of trees, and a large lake. There is lots to keep you occupied if you want to spend the day at the campground. You can swim in the indoor pool or the lake, where you can also go boating and catch and release fishing. There are two playgrounds, a games room for kids, an adult arcade, a lounge for teens, basketball, and shuffleboard. They even offer some meals at the weekends and special events are put on, such as bingo and karaoke. There are wineries in the area, antique stores, and pick your own fruit farms. Elyria has plenty of restaurants and bars, as well as golf courses and a nature preserve.
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum
For any of you out there who is a music fan, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum is the perfect place to go. As you approach the museum, you will hear music blaring out of speakers, and there is quite often a band playing in the grounds. The design of the building is spectacular, the highlight being a glass pyramid. There is so much to see here that you should reserve the whole day for visiting. You can go to the cafe and get a light lunch, while looking out onto the lake. There are quite a few floors, so it's probably best to start at the basement. Here there is plenty of music history and many artifacts, such as instruments and clothes belonging to the stars, as well as original song notes, personal effects, and recording equipment. The exhibits come from all genres of music and different eras, starting from the early 1900s. There are less exhibits as you go up the floors , but there are interactive music booths, which are great fun for both adults and children. On the top floor, there is an auditorium which plays videos about different stars an music in general. In addition, they have temporary exhibits and evening concerts.
Homerville KOA is a nature-lover's dream come true. It is 48.1 miles south of Lakewood but worth the drive. You will not find quality RV camping close to Lafayette, Indiana. You will have to be willing to travel to find a quality location. Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds, in Berea, Ohio offers a great RV camping destination.
