Discover Hubbard RV rentals for memorable road trips

If you are searching for an exceptional little town to rent an RV with the prospect of exploring Oregon in mind, there is a place between Salem and Portland that fits the bill. Hubbard, Oregon is a sleepy little town south of the state’s capital, with only a few thousand residents that call it home. The town was first settled in the mid-19th century and named for Charles Hubbard, one of the original pioneers. With the arrival of the railroad in 1870, the town solidified its status as a happening town with prosperity and opportunity for all.

Experience the Sites and Scenery

You won’t need much help navigating the state of Oregon while on vacation, as there are seemingly endless parks and forests around every corner. Champoeg State Park is quite close to town and easy to get to with your Hubbard camper rental. The park is not a conventional state park, however, as it is just as much about the history as it is the beautiful scenery along the Willamette River. The town of Champoeg is a ghost town now, with abandoned buildings and archaeological sites that are worth checking out if you enjoy learning about the past. There is a museum to peruse, disc golf to play, trails to hike, water to fish and boat in, and RV campsites where you can stay with your Hubbard RV rental by owner. Milo McIver State Park is another fantastic place to head off to, over on the Clackamas River by the town of Estacada. The park is known for its endemic bat populations and towering yew trees, among the biggest in the Pacific Northwest. There are hiking and biking trails, special horseback riding trails, picnic areas, camping spots, and a disc golf course located in the small state park by the river.

Where to Park It

The state of Oregon is one of the easiest places to find camping accommodations and the area around Hubbard is no exception. You can rent an RV in the small town and stay at any number of places within driving distance. Silver Spur RV Park has a lodge, a general store, playgrounds, fishing spots, and a game room for guests to use. There are special events held every so often too.

City Attractions

Apart from a few wineries, vineyards, restaurants, and shops, you won’t find much to do in Hubbard. The Hubbard Hops Festival is an excellent time to visit the small community, but at any other time of year, you may want to search the local area for attractions. In Salem, you can check out the Salem Riverfront Carousel, an antique amusement park ride that has been in operation for ages. The horses were handcrafted and carved by local volunteers who took pride in presenting this lovely gift to the community.

My wife and I rented Robert’s van for a weeklong roadtrip up the Oregon coast, and our experience couldn’t have been any better! Robert and his wife were very friendly and took the time to thoroughly go over every aspect of how to operate the van and all of its features - which was useful to me as a first time camper van user. The van itself is truly wonderful. The van is 21ft but does not feel very large to drive at all. The van has a backup camera and blind spot detection as well which was nice.

We had a great experience with renting this RV from time of rental, pick-up, and drop off. A great family spring break trip to the coast.
