When you book an RV in Washington County, you can venture off and do your own thing; however, Charlestown is not necessarily known for its sightseeing. The National Museum of American Illustration is wonderful for art lovers to visit while RV camping near Charlestown, contained in Vernon Court, a Gilded Age mansion built in 1898. This lovely institution focuses on illustrations in media, print advertising, books, and other illustrated works, and features art by American legends like Norman Rockwell and NC Wyeth. Another interesting stop to make in Newport is the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum, a mecca for tennis lovers around the world.
