Let's start with a few questions to narrow down your options.

Located halfway between Waco and Rusk in the eastern part of the state, Fairfield Lake State Park’s tree-lined landscape and fish-filled lake make it one of the best places in East Texas to go camping with an RV. Many different types of fish inhabit the 2,400-acre lake, and a wide variety of other types of animals call Fairfield Lake State Park home, too. Located just a few miles outside of town, fans of hiking, horseback riding, and swimming will have all they need at the park.
Beautiful, sturdy hardwood trees are plentiful for Fairfield campers, with various types of oak, hickory, and cedar making up the terrain. Colorful wildflowers of all shapes and sizes are scattered around the park, something that assuredly caught the eyes of the Native Americans who first hunted and fished in the waterways when they inhabited this part of Texas. After being acquired by lease in 1971, Fairfield State Park was officially opened up to the public in 1976. Since then, hikers, fishers, horseback riders, and boaters have grown to love the park. They even love the spooky Chancellor Union Cemetery there, which is the final resting place of many veterans from WWI, WWII, and the Civil War.
