Farmersville is a small city in Collin County, Texas. It was settled in 1849 and named by William Chapman and John Hendrex after their profession - farming. It became a popular agricultural destination and once produced massive amounts of onion crops causing it to be designated the “Onion Capital of North Texas." Farmersville was also where Audie Murphy, the most decorated soldier of World War II, once resided.
